Southern Creamy Beef & Tomato Gravy Rigatoni

12 oz rigatoni pasta
1 lb ground beef
Salt & black pepper, to taste
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp olive oil (if needed)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (14.5 oz) can crushed tomatoes
½ cup beef broth
½ cup heavy cream
¾ cup shredded cheddar or Parmesan cheese
1 tsp dried parsley or fresh for garnish
Optional: red pepper flakes for a bit of Southern heat

Cook pasta: Boil rigatoni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Brown beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Drain excess grease if needed and set aside.
Build the gravy: In the same skillet, add a bit of olive oil if needed. Sauté minced garlic for 1 minute. Pour in crushed tomatoes and beef broth. Simmer for 4–5 minutes.
Make it creamy: Stir in heavy cream and cheese. Simmer another 2–3 minutes until the sauce is thick, creamy, and smooth.
Combine: Add the cooked beef and pasta back to the skillet. Toss to coat everything in the creamy tomato gravy.
Serve: Garnish with parsley and extra cheese, and serve hot.
