Perfect 👍 — stovetop keeps it creamy and silky. Here’s the stovetop version, step by step:
🥦 Steamed Broccoli with Velveeta Cheese Sauce (Stovetop)
Ingredients:
4 cups fresh broccoli florets (about 1 large head)
8 oz Velveeta cheese, cut into small cubes
¼ cup milk (more if you like a thinner sauce)
1 tbsp butter (optional, richer flavor)
Salt & black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Steam the Broccoli
Bring about 1 inch of water to boil in a medium pot.
Place broccoli florets in a steamer basket over the boiling water.
Cover and steam 5–7 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
Remove from heat and set aside.
2. Make the Velveeta Cheese Sauce
In a small saucepan, add the butter (if using) and let it melt over low heat.
Add the cubed Velveeta and milk.
Stir constantly until the cheese melts into a smooth sauce (about 5 minutes).
Taste and season with salt and black pepper.
3. Combine & Serve
Place steamed broccoli in a serving dish or individual plates.
Pour the warm cheese sauce over the broccoli.
Serve immediately while hot and creamy.
👉 Pro tip: If you want a restaurant-style finish, sprinkle a little paprika or grated Parmesan on top before serving.
Do you want me to also give you a one-pan version (where you cook the broccoli and sauce in the same pot to save cleanup), or do you prefer keeping them separate?
