Best Texas Sheet Cake

Ingredientai

1 Cup Water (240 ml)

1 Cup Butter (227 gm)

3 Tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (22.5 gm)

2 Cups All Purpose Flour (240 gm)

2 Cups Granulated Sugar (400 gm)

1 tsp. Baking Soda (5 gm)

1/2 tsp. Salt (2.5 gm)

1/2 Cup Sour Cream (120 gm)

2 Large Eggs

1 tsp. Vanilla Extract (5 ml)

For the Frosting

6 Tbsp. Milk (90 ml)

3 Tbsp. Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (22.5 gm)

1/2 Cup Butter (115 gm)

3 3/4 Cups Powdered Sugar (450 gm)

Nurodymai

1. Preheat oven to 350 F & grease 18" X 13" pan

2. Add water, butter, cocoa powder to medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to boil.

3. Meanwhile in a separate bowl mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.

4. In another small bowl, mix together the sour cream, eggs, and vanilla.

5. Add sour cream/egg mixture to flour mixture and mix until combined.

6. Once chocolate mixture is boiling, remove from heat and pour into the batter. Mix until combined and no lumps remain.

7. Pour into prepared pan and smooth with spatula to disperse into even layer.

8. Bake in oven for 15-20 minutes or until set. (Usually done around 15 minutes.)

9. When cake is about half way through cooking, prepare frosting.

Frosting

1. Add milk, cocoa, and butter to saucepan and bring to boil.

2. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in sugar.

3. Pour hot icing over hot cake. Use spatula to spread it evenly. Allow to set for 10 minutes before eating.
