Creamy Lobster and Shrimp Bisque

1 lobster tail, chopped (reserve shell for stock)

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined (reserve shells for stock)

3 tbsp butter

1 tbsp olive oil

1 onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 carrots, diced

2 celery stalks, diced

2 tbsp tomato paste

1/2 cup white wine

4 cups seafood stock (or chicken stock)

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

In a large pot, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, carrots, and celery. Cook until softened.

Stir in tomato paste, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 2 minutes.

Add shrimp and lobster shells, sauté for 5 minutes to release flavors. Deglaze with white wine.

Pour in seafood stock, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

Strain the stock to remove shells and vegetables, returning the broth to the pot.

Stir in heavy cream, season with salt and black pepper, and let simmer for 5 minutes.

Add lobster chunks and shrimp meat. Cook until seafood is tender (about 4–5 minutes).

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with crusty bread.
