It’s plant-based, quicker and easy to make at home, which is perfect because I won’t have the dahl out as it has butter and cream in it, so dishoom love you btw, but sort it out.
heads up to the commenters, I do not consider this an authentic dahl, but a dahl that’s inspired with flavours from a black dahl. so with that being said, enjoy this dish in under 30 minutes!!!
you need:
500g puy lentils @merchantgourmet
6 garlic cloves
6cm ginger
4 tbsp tomato paste
2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tin coconut milk (save 50ml for drizzle at the end)
1 tbsp vegan butter
1 tsp miso paste
for chutney:
20g fresh mint (off stalks)
20g fresh coriander (on stalks)
3 lime juice
25ml water
1 tsp agave syrup
1 tsp chilli oil (optional)
