Easter Chocolate Nests

250g Mars bars, chopped 50g butter 2 tbsp golden syrup 150g comflakes Mini chocolate Easter eggs (about 50}

Petunjuk

1 Add a bit of water to a saucepan and bring it to a simmer over a medium heat. 2 Place the Mars bars into a large glass bowl and add the butter and golden syrup. Set the bowl over the saucepan so that it rests on the rim but does not touch the water inside. 3 Cook, stirring frequently, for five minutes until the mixture is smooth and glossy. 4 Remove from the heat and add the cornflakes. Stir gently with wooden spoon or spatula until they are all coated. 5 Line 12 cupcake cups with paper cases and divide the mixture evenly among the cases. 6 Press a few eggs into the centre of each nest. Refrigerate for 30 minutes until the chocolate has set.

Catatan

The Mars bars will add a creamy caramel flavour, but you can simply use your favourite plain chocolate instead.

• Melt the chocolate mixture in a microwave

by heating it in 30-second intervals on a medium power until smooth, stirring between each round.

Use toasted desiccated coconut, Rice Krispies or chopped shredded wheat cereal instead of the cornflakes.

• Young cooks might find it easier to use a dessert spoon rather than a wooden spoon or spatula when stirring the chocolate and cornflakes.

* To make other fun shapes, place biscuit cutters on a baking tray lined with

parchment paper and spoon the cornflake mixture into the cutters to set.

Place the nests into silicone cupcake cases for even easier removal.

Store in an airtight container for up to four days.
