🌿 Example Tincture Recipes
1.
Citrus Bitters Tincture
10g dried orange peel (or fresh zest from 1 large orange)
100ml 150-proof alcohol
Optional: a few allspice berries or clove for complexity
→ Steep 5–7 days. Use 1–2 drops in a cocktail.
2.
Ginger Spice Tincture
20g fresh ginger (sliced or grated)
100ml 150-proof alcohol
→ Steep 3–5 days for a sharp, spicy result. Use in whiskey or rum drinks.
3.
Coffee Bean Tincture
15g whole coffee beans (light to medium roast)
100ml alcohol
→ Steep 4–5 days. Add rich, earthy flavor to dark spirit cocktails.
4.
Lavender Floral Tincture
5g dried lavender buds
100ml alcohol
→ Steep 2–3 days max (lavender gets bitter if overdone). Use 1 drop in gin-based drinks.
5.
Chili Pepper Tincture (Spicy!)
1–2 dried Thai chilis or 2g chili flakes
100ml alcohol
→ Steep 1–2 days only. Taste daily — it gets hot quickly. Use sparingly in margaritas or bloody marys.
6.
Vanilla Bean Tincture
1 whole vanilla bean, split
100ml alcohol
→ Steep 7–10 days. Adds warmth to bourbon or espresso martinis.
🧪 Dosing for Cocktails
Start small: 1–5 drops per cocktail.
Use an eyedropper for precision.
Combine tinctures (like lavender + orange) for more complex flavors.
🧊 Storage
Store in amber or clear glass dropper bottles, tightly sealed.
Keep in a cool, dark place.
Shelf life: 1+ year due to high alcohol content.
