Tyler’s Jager Schnitzel

4 Pork Chops (or chicken breasts)

Parchment Paper

1 tsp Black pepper

1 tsp Salt

1 cup All purpose flour

1 tbsp Corn starch

1 cup of Bread Crumbs

2 Large Eggs

1 quart Cooking Oil

1/2 cup of sliced mushrooms

1 pack of mushroom gravy or brown gravy

Upute

  1. Sear mushrooms in sauce pot over medium heat. Add 1 cup of water and bring to boil. Add mushroom gravy or brown gravy packet and stir over low heat.

  2. Mix flour, cornstarch, salt and pepper in a shallow bowl or pan.

  3. Poor breadcrumbs into separate shallow bowl or pan.

  4. Whisk eggs into separate shallow bowl or pan.

  5. Align the bowls/pans in a row: flour, egg, breadcrumbs.

  6. Heat oil in fryer or pot to around 330 F. Do not allow oil to over heat.

  7. Using parchment paper, place the meat and cover. With a meat tenderizer, beat the meat until it is 1/8” thin or to liked thickness.

  8. Take meat and place it into the flour pan. Do not leave meat in flour for too long as it dries it out.

  9. Shake off excess flour and place in egg pan. You will want to coat most of the surface.

  10. In the breadcrumb pan, place the coated meat but do not pack it. Allow the breadcrumbs to stick to the meat with minimal force.

  11. Place the meat in the oil. Allow to cook for 2-3 minutes each side or until golden brown. Remove the schnitzel.

  12. Plate the schnitzel and pour mushroom gravy atop.
