And yeah… I actually mean it this time.

No infusions, no syrups to prep, no 24h anything. Just straight-up ingredients doing their job—and doing it really well. It’s bright, a little savory, a little sweet, and honestly way more complex than it has any right to be.

I built this with a modern-classic template in mind, kind of in the lane of a Smash—fresh ingredient, citrus, sweetener, spirit—but with a twist that keeps it interesting without overcomplicating things.

This one’s proof you don’t need to go crazy to make something that hits.

2 oz bourbon

¾ oz fresh lemon juice

½ oz maple syrup (scant)

¼ oz maraschino liqueur

2–3 slices red bell pepper

Muddle the pepper in a shaker
