Brown Butter Banana Bread

Ingrédients

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp ground ginger

1 cup white sugar

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup butter (brown it)

6 overripe bananas

4 eggs

¾ cup chocolate chips (one loaf)

1 cup chopped walnuts (other loaf)

Instructions

Heat oven to 350°F. Grease two 9×5 loaf pans.

Brown butter in a pan until golden with nutty brown bits; cool slightly.

In one large bowl, add bananas, eggs, sugars, flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and ginger. Mash and mix with a hand mixer until combined.

Add browned butter last and mix until smooth.

Divide batter between pans. Mix ¾ cup chocolate chips into one loaf and 1 cup walnuts into the other.

Optional bakery trick: lay a thin strip of butter down the center of each loaf for a classic crack.

Bake 60–70 min until a knife comes out clean. Cool 5 min in pans, then on rack.
