Homemade Flour Tortillas

Ingrédients

3c flour

1 tsp salt

1 1/4 tsp baking powder

1c very hot water

1/3c melted butter

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combing flour, salt, and baking powder. Whisk. Make a well in the middle and pour in hot water and melted butter. Mix until just combined.

Knead the dough for 30 seconds and shape into a ball. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes.

Flour a flat surface and turn out the dough ball. Divide into 8 or 10 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball.

Flour the surface again and roll out each ball into a 9” circle ensuring it is very thin.

Heat a pan over low/medium low. Cook each tortilla for 1-2 minutes on each side or until bubbles form and slightly golden brown.

Wrap in a towel to keep them soft.

Room temperature for 3 days.

Fridge for 1 week.

Freezer for 2-3 months.
