Apple Cinnamon French Toast Poppables

Ingrédients

Custard Base:

8 eggs

2 cups milk

¾ cup brown sugar

1 tbsp cinnamon

Splash of vanilla

Dried bread cubes (enough to soak up the custard)

2 cups peeled and finely chopped apples

Crumb Topping:

¾ cup brown sugar

¾ cup flour

1 tsp cinnamon

2–3 tbsp melted butter or margarine (enough to create a wet sand texture)

Instructions

Cut leftover bread or crusts into cubes and let them dry out overnight.

In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.

Fold in the bread cubes and chopped apples. Add just enough bread to soak up the liquid.

Divide into 24 greased muffin tins (or use silicone pans).

Mix together the crumb topping ingredients and sprinkle on top.

Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.

Cool completely before freezing. Reheat in microwave or toaster oven.
