Apple and pear compote

Ingrédients

8 eating apples, peeled, cored and cut into chunks

4 Bramley apples, peeled, cored and cut into chunks

8 firm pears, peeled, cored and thickly sliced

6 tbsp sugar, or more to taste

150g dried cranbenies

Instructions

1 Place the apples, pears and sugar in a large pot and add 50mI of water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 30-35 minutes until the cooking apples have collapsed and the eating apples and pears are tender.

2 Add the cranberries and cook for one minute, then add more sugar if needed. Serve on top of pancakes or with vanilla ice cream
