Ginger Snaps (Joe)

1 cup sugar
3/4 cup shortening
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 1/4 cup flour
2 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Sift together the baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, ground cloves, salt, and flour.
Cream, the sugar, shortening, egg, and molasses.
Stirring the flour mixture.
Roll into balls and dip into granulated sugar.
Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.
