3¼ cups all-purpose flour

2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

¼ cup granulated sugar

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup warm milk (110°F)

¼ cup warm water (110°F)

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg, room temperature

⅓ cup unsalted butter, softened

¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

½ cup brown sugar, packed

½ teaspoon cinnamon

½ cup mini chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons hot cocoa mix

2–3 tablespoons milk (as needed)

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

In a large bowl, mix warm milk, water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. Add melted butter, egg, salt, and flour gradually until dough forms. Knead for 6–8 minutes or use dough hook for 5. Let rise covered in a greased bowl for 1–1.5 hours.

For the filling, mix softened butter, cocoa powder, brown sugar, and cinnamon until spreadable.

Roll dough into a 12×18-inch rectangle. Spread filling evenly. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.

Roll into a log from the long side. Slice into 12 pieces. Place in greased 9×13 baking dish.

Cover and let rise 30–45 minutes or refrigerate overnight. Bring to room temp if chilled.

Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes. Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls.
