New York-style Cookies Recipe

Ingrédients

170g cold butter

220g brown sugar

40g sugar

1 egg

1 egg yolk

340g all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

100g walnuts

300g chocolate chips

Instructions

Mix together all dry ingredients.

Mix sugar and butter, then add the eggs one at a time.

Add all the dry ingredients and mix. Stop once it is mixed up to 80% ( you will still see some flour) Then add the chocolate chips and the chopped walnuts. Mix again until all combined (do not overmix to avoid developing gluten).

Shape your cookies (100g each).

Refrigerate them for about 30 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 180°C.

Bake them for about 15 minutes. They will be very soft once out of the oven, let them cool slightly on the baking sheet before enjoying.
