Crockpot Pork Carnitas

pork shoulder

salt, pepper, garlic powder

2 cups of chicken broth

1/2 cup of orange juice

1/4 cup of lime juice

2 TBSP minced garlic

1/4 cup green chile

1 chopped onion

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp cayenne

4 tsp chili powder

2 tsp each of cumin, cilantro, black pepper

Instructions

season pork shoulder generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder

sear all sides of pork shoulder in a skillet over medium high heat

put seared meat in a slow cooker

add chicken broth, orange juice, and lime juice

add minced garlic and green chile

season with salt, cayenne pepper, chili powder, cumin, dried cilantro, and black pepper

add chopped onion

cook on low for 8 hours

shred meat and assemble tacos
