Haluski - Cabbage and Noodles GUM

1 (16 ounce) package medium-wide egg noodles
1 cup butter, divided
2 large onions, chopped
1 large bag slaw mix
1 package Polish Sausage
1/2 lb cooked thick sliced bacon
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil. Stir in egg noodles and return to a boil.
Cook noodles uncovered, stirring occasionally, until tender but slightly firm, about 5 minutes. Drain well and set aside.
On Griddle -
Cook bacon, then remove
cook sausage, onions and slaw until desired browning
Add noodles and bacon crumbs
Combine and cook to desired doneness, remove and top with Romano cheese
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add 3 strips cooked crumbled bacon to cabbage and noodle mixture before baking. This recipe makes a large amount, so share it with family and friends who have never tried it!
