Zeera Aloo - a Popular North Indian Dish Made with Potatoes

8 Red potatoes (about 2lbs) wash, peel and cut into 1 inch cubes. Boil until 3/4 done (4 minutes), drain and keep it aside.

2 Tbsp Ghee

1 tsp Cumin

Pinch of Hing

1 cup Onions, chopped

1 tsp Ginger, chopped

1 tsp Garlic, chopped

1 tsp Green Chillies, chopped

1 tsp Coriander powder

1/4 tsp Turmeric

1/2 tsp Kashmiri mirch

Salt to taste

1/2 tsp Mango powder

1/2 tsp Chat masala

1/2 tsp Cumin powder

Ohjeet

Heat ghee and add cumin seeds and hing.

Add onions, garlic, ginger and green chilies.

Sauté until light brown. Add coriander powder, mirch & turmeric.

Add potatoes and stir on medium heat for a few minutes. Cover and cook on low heat for about 5 minutes or until done.

Add salt to taste.

Add mango powder, chat masala, cumin powder and cilantro.
