Ingredientes

1 block firm tofu

½ sweet onion, thinly sliced

Avocado oil, for cooking

Salt & pepper, to taste

1 tbsp sesame oil

SAUCE

4 tbsp soy sauce

3 tbsp agave syrup

1 tbsp crushed garlic

1 tbsp Korean red pepper flakes (gochugaru)

¼ cup water

3 green onions, thinly chopped

Instrucciones

Cut tofu into ½-inch thick squares. This keeps it from getting too salty and makes it easier to handle without breaking.

Heat a medium pan over medium heat and add a little avocado oil. Add tofu and season lightly with salt and pepper.

Cook for about 5 minutes per side, until deeply golden brown and almost pan-fried.

Make the sauce: Mix soy sauce, agave syrup, crushed garlic, gochugaru, water, and thinly chopped green onions.

Pour the sauce directly over the tofu and let it simmer for about 7-10 minutes, gently spooning the sauce over the tofu as it reduces.

Add the thinly sliced sweet onion and cook for another minute.

Turn off the heat and drizzle with 1 tbsp sesame oil. Gently spoon the sauce over the tofu before serving.
