Roast Directions

-Thaw turkey out overnight in fridge

-Preheat oven to 350°C

-Place turkey in sink

-Remove packaging from turkey

-Rinse out turkey, if already thawed use cold water, if not use warm water

-If turkey is store bought, take out the bag inside with the heart/lung...

-If there is a neck cut it off. If turkey is store bought there probably won't be a neck.

-Pour salt inside and outside of turkey

-Place turkey in roast pan

-Fill roast pan with water (approx 2 inches from bottom)

-Put top on roast pan, if lid doesn't fit you can use tin foil or get a bigger roast pan.

-Put turkey in oven

-Check once during cooking to see if there is still enough water in the roast pan, also pour some of the juice over turkey to keep turkey moist

-If turkey is cooking too much turn down oven to 325°C

-Check to see if done after 3 hours. Stick meat thermometer in turkey, turkey is done if it is in the poultry range.
