Braised Cabbage in Harissa-Tomato Beans

Ingredientes

1/2 Savoy cabbage, quartered through core

4 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp butter

4 garlic cloves,

1/2 yellow onion, minced

2 cans of great white beans, drained

1 (25oz) can pasta sauce

2 tsp harissa seasoning or 2 tbsp harissa

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp cumin

salt/pepper, to taste

Instrucciones

- Preheat oven 375F. Heat oil in a deep-dish skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Salt the cabbage, then place the cabbage face down and sear on all sides. Set aside.

- In the same pan, melt the butter. Sauté garlic and onion, then add spices until fragrant. Add the drained beans, toss to coat, and stir in the pasta sauce. Bring to a light simmer and season with salt/pepper to taste.

- Once seasoned, add the cabbage back into the pan and nestle it in the sauce. Place in the oven and cook for 35-40 mins or until cabbage is tender.

- Garnish with hazelnut breadcrumbs, pecorino romano, and fresh parsley.
