Just before heading off on holiday, I was lucky enough to receive a bottle of @the_teasmith gin.

It’s a small-batch Scottish gin with a unique twist: hand-picked Sri Lankan tea leaves from the Amba Estate. The flavour is beautifully balanced with notes of vanilla, soft orange and a gentle hint of spice.

I decided to try it in an Old Friend, a simple cocktail I really enjoy and thought would suit this gin well. It turned out to be a lovely match.

Old Friend

45 ml gin @the_teasmith

20 ml pink grapefruit juice

15 ml Campari

10 ml elderflower liqueur

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe.

A quiet toast to good friends, good flavours, and the start of a holiday.

Net voordat ik op vakantie ging, had ik het geluk een fles @the_teasmith gin te ontvangen.

Het is een Schotse small-batch gin met een unieke twist: met de hand geplukte Sri Lankaanse theeblaadjes van het Amba Estate. De smaak is heerlijk in balans met vanille, zachte sinaasappel en een subtiele hint van specerijen.

Ik besloot hem uit te proberen in een Old Friend, een eenvoudige cocktail die ik erg lekker vind en waarvan ik dacht dat hij goed bij deze gin zou passen. Dat bleek een mooie combinatie te zijn.

20 ml roze grapefruitsap

15 ml Campari

10 ml vlierbloesemlikeur

Shake met ijs en strain in een gekoelde coupe.
