Muddling isn’t an exact science. Sometimes you get more juice, sometimes less, and that’s what makes this drink so tricky to balance. That’s why tasting before serving is key. If it’s too tart, add a touch of simple syrup, it blends easily once the drink is ice cold. I like using a less refined sugar for a bit more flavor, and if you’ve got a barrel-aged cachaça on hand, it adds beautiful depth.

Recipe

2 oz Cachaça

½ lime, cut into quarters

1 tbsp granulated sugar

Anweisungen

Muddle the lime and sugar in a shaker.

Add cachaça, fill with ice, and shake well.

Open pour everything into a double rocks glass.

Garnish with a lime wedge.
