1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
1 1/2 cups beef broth or water
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Anweisungen
Cook the Beef:
In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
Add Vegetables:
Add the chopped onion, garlic, and green bell pepper to the pot. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables are softened.
Stir in the Sauce:
Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes (with their juice), beef broth, soy sauce, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
Simmer:
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Cook the Pasta:
Stir in the uncooked elbow macaroni, ensuring it is well submerged in the liquid. Cover and simmer for another 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender.
Optional Cheese Topping:
If you like, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top and cover the pot again for a few minutes, allowing the cheese to melt.
Serve:
Serve the goulash hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
