Slow Cooker Pot Roast

4 lb beef chuck

kosher salt

pepper

1/3 c flour

3 tbsp oil

4 medium carrots - 2" pieces

3 stalks celery

3 cloves garlic

3 tbsp tomato paste

1 c red win

3 c beef broth

3 bay leaves

pinch thyme

1/2 tsp allspice

Anweisungen

Sprinkle roast w/ 2 1/2 tsp salt, 1 1/2 pepper. 2 tbsp oil in skillet, brown roast. Transfer to cooker, add veg.

Add last 1 tbsp oil to skillet, add otmato paste, stir.

Add flour & wine, whisk, add broth, bay leaves, thyme, allspice, 1/2 tsp salt, few grains pepper. Simmer until smooth.

Pour gravy into cooker, cover, cook 8 hours.

Crock Pot Beef (great gravey flavor in this)

Ingredient:

1 pound boneless beef chuck or other pot roast, cut in thin strips.

1 c consomme

1/2 c soy sauce

1 tbsp sesame oil

3 minced garlic cloves

1/3 c brown sugar or honey

2 tbsp cornstarch

Put beef in pot. In a small bowl combine first five ingredients. Pour over beef.

Cook low 6 to 8 hours. Remove some sauce from pot, combine with corn starch, put back in pot and cook for 30 minutes more.

Remove roast, rest few minutes. Drain veg, reserve gravy, season veg to taste.
