Chocolate Cake (Patrick's Creek)

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking powder

1¼ teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 cups sugar (raw cane is the best)

¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

4 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted

¾ cup sour cream

1 cup spring water

2 eggs, lightly beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Anweisungen

Preheat oven to 350° Lightly grease two 9" cake pans

In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside

In a large bowl, beat together butter and sugar. Then beat in the melted chocolate until combined. Beat in the sour cream, water, eggs and vanilla until combined

Slowly add in the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Transfer batter to prepared pans and bake 35 to 40 minutes until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cake cool completely before frosting
