Beef Gyudon

1 lb thinly sliced beef chuck
1 onion
1 cup water
1 pack dashi powder
3 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp mirin
3 tbsp sugar
1/2 tbsp grated ginger
cooked rice
green onions
Onsen tamago (optional but recommended!)
Anweisungen
Slice the onion, cut beef into bite-sized pieces.
In a pot, combine water, dashi powder, soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and grated ginger.
Add the sliced onion and beef to the pot. Simmer for 10–15 minutes.
Scoop rice into a bowl. Spoon the beef on top, finish with chopped green onion and Onsen Tamago.
Onsen Tamago (slow cooked porched egg in the shell) - Boil water and turn off the heat, add 1–2 eggs (still in the shell), cover with a lid, and let them sit for 10 minutes. Carefully crack the egg.
