French Onion Beef and Noodles

1 lb ground beef

1 tbsp olive oil or butter

1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup

1 cup beef broth

1/2 cup sour cream

2 cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese

8 oz wide egg noodles

Fresh thyme or parsley, for garnish (optional)

Anweisungen

Cook noodles: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook egg noodles until al dente, drain, and set aside.

Caramelize onions: Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and soft.

Brown beef: Add ground beef to the onions. Cook for 6–7 minutes until browned, breaking it apart. Drain excess grease if needed.

Add flavor: Stir in garlic powder, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, French onion soup, and beef broth. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Make it creamy: Stir in sour cream and 1 cup of shredded cheese. Mix until melted and smooth.

Combine: Fold in the cooked noodles until well coated. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and let melt over low heat for 2–3 minutes.

Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley or fresh thyme if desired. Serve hot.
