1 egg white
2 tsp filtered water
2 ÂĽ c (~280 g) pecans, halved
1/2 c brown sugar, tightly packed
1/8 tsp salt
1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
MATERIALS
2 mixing bowl
whisk / beater
baking tray (lined with baking mat/parchment, or lightly greased)
Anweisungen
preheat oven to 225ËšF (~105ËšC)
in smaller mixing bowl, combine sugar, salt, ground cinnamon, and set aside
in second bowl, add eggs white + water and beat/whisk until soft peak forms, then
fold pecans into the egg whites to evenly coat, then gently mix in dry ingredients
spread nuts evenly over baking tray. bake until toasted & fragrant (~1 hr), stirring every 15 min so that they toast evenly. let cool to room temp on tray, then store in an airtight container
enjoy them as topping for ice cream, pies, bread pudding, baked sweet potatoes, or just alone <3
TO MAKE A LARGER BATCH
3 egg whites
2 tbsp filtered water
6 3/4 c pecans (~2 lbs)
1.5 c brown sugar, tightly packed
3/4 tsp salt
4.5 tsp ground cinnamon
same instructions, but use 2 baking trays, and total time in oven is 1.5 hours
