Garlic Soy Shrimp with Sesame

Ingredienser

1 lb frozen shrimp, peeled and deveined

1–2 teaspoons neutral oil

2 cloves garlic, finely minced

1/2 - 1 tablespoon butter

1–2 teaspoons soy sauce (to taste)

1 teaspoon rice vinegar

½ teaspoon sesame oil

Sesame seeds, for garnish

Vejledning

Thaw the shrimp

Place frozen shrimp in a bowl of cold water for about 15 minutes, until thawed. Drain well and pat completely dry with paper towels.

Dry-sear the shrimp

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp to the dry pan in a single layer. Let them cook undisturbed for about 1–2 minutes until they begin to turn pink on the bottom.

Add oil and flip

Drizzle in the oil, then flip the shrimp. Cook another 1–2 minutes until mostly cooked through.

Add garlic and butter

Add the minced garlic and butter to the pan. Toss everything together and cook for about 30 seconds, just until the garlic is fragrant.

Season

Splash in the soy sauce and rice vinegar. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly and let the sauce bubble briefly.

Finish

Remove from heat and drizzle with sesame oil. Toss once more.

Serve

Transfer to a plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
