Ground Beef and Gravy Over Mashed Potatoes

Ingredienser

For the beef and gravy:

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups beef broth

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

For the mashed potatoes:

2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed

1/2 cup milk (warm)

1/4 cup butter

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 cup sour cream (optional, for extra creaminess)

Vejledning

Boil the potatoes in salted water for 12–15 minutes or until fork-tender. Drain and mash with warm milk, butter, and sour cream (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until browned. Add garlic and cook for another minute.

Sprinkle in flour and stir well to coat the beef. Cook for 1 minute.

Gradually stir in beef broth, then add Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 4–5 minutes until the gravy thickens.

Spoon the beef and gravy mixture generously over mashed potatoes and garnish with parsley if desired. Serve hot.
