¾ cup unsalted butter (1½ sticks), room temperature

1 cup light brown sugar, packed

½ cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

⅓ cup chunky peanut butter

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1¼ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided

1½ cups chopped pretzels, divided

½ cup peanut butter chips

Preheat oven:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.

Mix dry ingredients:

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Make the dough:

In a large bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs, vanilla extract, and chunky peanut butter. Beat until smooth.

Combine mixtures:

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined—do not overmix.

Fold in 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 cup chopped pretzels.

Assemble the bars:

Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking dish.

In a small bowl, combine the remaining ¼ cup chocolate chips, ½ cup pretzels, and peanut butter chips.

Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top.

Bake:

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing.

Serve and enjoy:

Cut into squares and serve with cold milk or vanilla ice cream.
