Taco Salad Recipe

Ingredience

For the Salad:

1lb (450g) ground beef (or ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based meat)

1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp

homemade - see below)

1/2 cup water

6 cups chopped romaine lettuce

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1/2 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese

1/2 cup canned black beans (drained and rinsed)

1/2 cup corn (fresh, canned, or thawed from frozen)

1/4 cup diced red onion

1 avocado, diced

1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

1 cup crushed tortilla chips or whole tortilla strips

For the Dressing (Optional):

1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

2 tosp salsa or taco sauce

1 top lime juice

Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Cook the Meat:

• In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned (about 6-8 minutes).

Drain excess fat, then add taco seasoning and water.

Simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.

Remove from heat.

2. Make the Dressing:

• In a small bowl, mix sour cream, salsa, and lime juice. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.

3. Assemble the Salad:

In a large bowl or on individual plates, layer lettuce, tomatoes, black beans, corn, onion, cheese, and avocado.

Add warm seasoned meat on top.

Drizzle with dressing and top with crushed tortilla chips and olives (if using).

4. Serve immediately. Enjoy it warm or cold!

Homemade Taco Seasoning (Optional):

Mix together:

1 tosp chili powder

1/2 tsp paprika

1 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt & black pepper to taste
