1 box yellow cake mix (plus required ingredients listed on the box: eggs, water, oil)

2 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix

4 cups cold milk

1 cup heavy cream

8 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons corn syrup (optional, for a shinier glaze)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Bake the cake

Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions.

Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Prepare the cake batter as directed on the box, pour into the dish, and bake.

Let the cake cool for 15 minutes after baking.

Poke the holes

Using the handle of a wooden spoon or a straw, poke holes all over the cake, going all the way to the bottom.
